and came to Ziyang, the closest city to Chengdu,
我很期待这座城市会带给我怎么样的惊喜呢？
and I was looking forward to what surprises this city would bring me.
资阳这座城市，是我旅途中的第一站
Ziyang is the first stop on my journey.
资阳地处成都重庆之间的中心位置，
Ziyang is located in the center between Chengdu and Chongqing
是唯一直接连接成渝两个特大城市的区域性中心城市
and is the only regional center city that directly connects the two mega cities - Chengdu and Chongqing.
35000年前，茂林平川，江水淼淼，

一群智人打石为斧，断木为器
a group of wise men beat stones for axes, broke wood for tools,
于厮土渔猎
fishing, and hunting in the tributary land,
临资水栖居，好一番欣欣向荣
living in the Ziyang water and outlining a picture of thriving.
古老的资阳人用自己的智慧在沱江河畔开启了四川人类的历史
Ancient Ziyang people opened the history of human beings in Sichuan with their wisdom on the Tuo River.
2500年前，一群能工巧匠在这里以石作画
2500 years ago, a group of skilled craftsmen painted here with stones,
十万尊安岳石刻，古多精美，
100,000 Anyue stone carvings are ancient and exquisite,
上承敦煌云冈，下启大足。
from the famous carvings of Dunhuang, Yungang to that of Dazu county.
古老的资阳人在这里留下了他们的痕迹
The ancient people of Ziyang left their traces here.

I looked at these statues of Buddha, either angry or peaceful
一步一步踏在历史的台阶上寻觅而去
I Follow the footsteps of history to feel all this,
感受到的是内心从来未有过的厚实和宁静
feeling a thickness and tranquility that I’d never felt before.
千百年矗立的石碑
The stone monuments standing for thousands of years
以它不变的厚重给我带了资阳的初体验
gave me the first experience of Ziyang with their constant heaviness.

现存唐朝摩岩石刻造像十万余尊、石刻经文40万文字
100,000 statues and 400,000 texts of scriptures carved in stone from the Tang Dynasty;
被誉为东方维纳斯的毗卢洞紫竹观音
the Purple Bamboo Guanyin(Avalokitesvara) in Pilu Cave, known as the Venus of the East

虽然我不是中国人
Although I am not Chinese,
对中国的历史文化了解还很肤浅
and my understanding of Chinese history and culture is also very simple.
但是当我慢慢看着陈列馆和故居的一草一木
When I looked at the exhibition hall and the former residence
读着这些代表陈毅元帅当时心境的诗词
and read the poems representing General Chen Yi's state of mind at that time,
我也仿佛被感染，来到了那个英雄辈出的年代
I felt also to be there，
也再次让我感受到资阳这一方土地的人杰地灵。
once again, feeling the outstanding people of Ziyang.
资阳至今还鲜活的许多非物质文化遗产
So far there are many intangible cultural heritages in Ziyang,
这也是此次旅行我觉得最有趣味的环节
which I think is the most interesting part of this trip.
我体验到了东峰镇精美绝伦的剪纸和川剧”资阳河流派“
I learned the paper-cut in Dongfeng town and experienced Sichuan opera of Ziyang River Genre.
精美绝伦的剪纸艺术丰富而多彩
Exquisite paper-cut art is abundant and colorful.
川剧脸谱、人物肖像、花鸟虫鱼、风景名胜等，每一副都刻画得惟妙惟肖。
Opera masks, portraits of characters, flowers, birds, insects, fish, scenic spots and so on, each is vividly depicted.
而川剧资阳派高腔，不仅让我领会了这项艺术文化的独特性
Sichuan Opera not only makes me understand its uniqueness,
更是展示了中国戏剧文化美轮美奂的行头与服装
but also shows the uniqueness and diversity of Chinese drama culture,
让我了解了它的历史文化
By which I learned its history and culture.
我还学习了一些简单的川剧动作
I also learned some simple Sichuan opera moves and some related culture.
真是特别的生动有趣
It’s really dramatic and interesting.
戏幕起，戏幕落，谁是客，那份人身在异乡的惆怅也浅浅地在心底升了起来....
Seeing the opera’s curtain up and down, the melancholy of being a traveler in a foreign land in the bottom of my heart rose....
我终于明白，文化的感受是可以相通的
I finally understood that the feeling of culture could be connected,
同样地，只有走进文化，真实地触摸文化
likewise, I can only go into Chinese culture and feel it,
才能了解中国文化
so that I can understand it better.
而资阳的，带着它浓浓地暖意和色彩，缤纷了我的一段时光
And Ziyang’s culture, as it being warm and luxuriant, colored part of my life,
让我对它升出了更多的向往。
and made me yearn for it more.
鲜亮的不只有剪纸和川剧
In addition to paper-cut and Sichuan opera,
黄色的柠檬给资阳带来了一份清新与活力
the local lemon also brought a different feeling to my journey.
每一个有故事的城市都有一瓶有故事的美酒
Every city with story has a bottle of wine with it own story.
轻抿一口,齿颊留芳,韵味余香。
When you take a light sip, your teeth cheeks stay fragrant, lingering fragrance.
这是一种接近天堂的享受。
This is kind of unique feeling.
而在资阳，我也参观了当地宝莲酒的酒窖
In Ziyang, I also visited the local Pauline wine cellar
有好酒，有美食，
There is good wine and food,
资阳的美食也是让我欲罢不能的
and the food in Ziyang is something I can't get enough.
热辣的火锅就像是资阳人火辣辣地热情
The "spicy" of hot pot is like the enthusiasm of Ziyang people.
