西南民族大学国际传播学院正式成立|School of International Communication Established at Southwest Minzu University

9月29日，西南民族大学国际传播学院（以下简称“学院”）成立大会暨中国话语国际传播人才培养研讨会在四川成都举行，来自中国外文局、省教育厅、全国10余所高校及主流媒体相关负责同志参会，共同见证国际传播学院扬帆起航，助力中华民族共同体话语体系对外建构。

On September 29, the Inauguration Ceremony of the School of International Communication  (hereinafter referred to as “the School”) of Southwest Minzu University and the Symposium on Cultivating International Communication Talents for China’s Discourse System took place in Chengdu, Sichuan. Relevant representatives from the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education, more than 10 higher education institutes nationwide, and mainstream media outlets attended the event. The attendees witnessed the inauguration of the School, which aims to facilitate the international construction of the discourse system for the Chinese nation.

西南民族大学是国家民委直属综合性普通高校，由国家民委、教育部、四川省、成都市共建，是新中国最早建立的民族高校之一。该校现有25个学院，4个现代产业学院，4个一级学科博士学位授权点、1个自设二级交叉学科博士学位授权点、2个博士后流动站、1个博士后创新实践基地、25个一级学科硕士学位授权点、28个硕士专业学位授权点。

Southwest Minzu University is a comprehensive regular higher education institute directly under the National Ethnic Affairs Commission. Jointly established by the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Education, the People’s Government of Sichuan Province, and the People’s Government of Chengdu Municipality, the University stands as one of the earliest ethnic higher education institutions founded after the establishment of the People’s Republic of China. The University currently comprises 25 schools and four modern industrial schools. It offers four first-level doctoral degree disciplines, one self-established second-level interdiscipline for the conferring of doctoral degrees, two postdoctoral programs, one innovation and practice base for postdoctors, 25 first-level disciplines for the conferring of master’s degrees, and 28 disciplines for the conferring of professional master’s degrees.

西南民族大学相关负责人表示，组建国际传播学院，是学校办学理念、学科体系和育人模式的一次深刻重塑，将积极推动学科深度交叉，培养“会语言、懂传播、通国情”的高素质人才，加强高水平智库和研究平台建设，推动学院办出特色、办出水平、办出影响，为铸牢中华民族共同体意识、推进中华民族共同体建设作出新的更大贡献。

One relevant official from the University leadership noted that establishing the School represents a profound reshaping of the University’s educational philosophy, disciplinary system, and talent cultivation model. This initiative will actively promote deep interdisciplinary integration and cultivate high-caliber professionals who are “proficient in languages, knowledgeable in communication, and well-versed in national conditions.” Furthermore, its establishment will strengthen the development of high-level think tanks and research platforms, enabling the School to develop distinctive features, achieve academic excellence, and expand its influence, thereby making fresh and greater contributions to forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation and advancing the community’s construction.

会上，西南民族大学国际传播学院正式揭牌。学院与四川民族出版社、外语教学与研究出版社、高等教育出版社签署合作协议，将共同推动《浸润与融通——西藏各民族交往、交流与交融的故事》系列丛书翻译出版、《全球议题与中国智慧》《中华优秀传统文化国际传播》两部教材的出版工作。

During the event, the School of International Communication of Southwest Minzu University was officially established. The School signed cooperation agreements with Sichuan Ethnic Publishing House, Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, and Higher Education Press. These cooperations are designed to advance the translation and publication of the book series “Exchanges and Integration: Stories of Interactions, Exchanges, and Integration Among All Ethnic Groups in Xizang,” along with the publication of two textbooks: “Global Issues and Chinese Wisdom” and “International Communication of Outstanding Traditional Chinese Culture.”

据了解，西南民族大学国际传播学院将以铸牢中华民族共同体意识为主线，整合外语与新闻传播学科优势，构建“一条主线、双轮驱动、三维支撑”发展格局，培养复合型、实践型、数智型国际传播人才，聚焦智能传播实验室建设与多语种译著出版，服务国家战略与“三州”发展，致力成为中华民族共同体话语国际传播的重要力量。

It is understood that the School will take as its primary mission the forging of a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, and will seek to do so by integrating the strengths of foreign language and journalism and communication disciplines. Through a development framework featuring “one main mission, two drives, and three-dimensional support,” the School strives to develop composite, practice-oriented, and digital-intelligent international communication talents. Focusing on the construction of intelligent communication laboratories and the publication of multilingual translations, the School will adhere to national strategies and fuel the development of the “three prefectures,” in an effort to become a vital force for the community for the Chinese nation’s international communication of the discourse system.

省教育厅相关负责人表示，希望学院不断深化教育教学改革，全面提高人才培养质量，建设成为特色鲜明、国内一流的国际传播人才培养和学术研究高地，为教育强省建设和国家国际传播能力建设作出新的更大贡献。

A relevant official from the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education explained their sincere hope for the School’s continuous deepening of education and teaching reforms, as well as comprehensive improvement of the quality of talent cultivation. The official is looking forward to seeing the School build itself into a distinctive and domestically first-class hub for international communication talent training and academic research, thus empowering Sichuan’s development into an education powerhouse and China’s international communication capability enhancement.
